Aldo Vázquez
Set & Costume designer
Aldo is a Mexican set and costume designer based in the UK. He trained at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School with an MA in Theatre Design, and a BA in Visual Arts from the UNAM/ ENAP, México City. He has worked both in México and the UK collaborating with international directors and actors from Argentina, Canada, China, México, USA, UK, and Switzerland.
In the UK he designed for RSC Swan theatre’s production of Falkland Sound written by Brad Birch and directed by Aaron Parsons. Theatre 503’s The Boys Are Kissing by Zak Mahinfar directed by Lisa Spriling and Moreno written by Pravin Wilkins and directed by Nancy Medina (2022).
He has worked in several graduating shows for Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and Bristol School of Acting with such directors as: Nancy Medina, Tom Morris, Aaron Parsons, Donaccadh O’Briain & Derek Bond (2020-2022).
Alongside his work in theatre he designed the costumes for the reopening of Battersea Power station (2022)
In México he has designed for a variety of different projects, as well as being part of three of the annual Festival Internacional Teatro Universitario, and designed for the Swiss-Mexico Dramafest festival.
He has collaborated with the following directors: Enrique Singer, Teatro ojo, Angélica Rogel, Paula Zelaya, Edurne Goded, Emiliano Dionisi, He Hao, Francine Alepin and Mathieu Bertolet.
